World Veterinary Day 2025

Theme: “Animal Health Takes a Team”

World Veterinary Day 2025 was celebrated at Nandankanan on 26th of April complying with this year’s theme “Animal Health Takes a Team”. The programme started with a welcome address by Dr Sarat Kumar Mishra, Senior Veterinary Officer, Nandankanan, and Deputy Director, Nandankanan, Sri Sanath Kumar N., IFS addressed the gathering as well. This was followed by presentations on success stories, Hand Rearing Centre, Mobile Veterinary Unit and case study of injured elephant treated at Nandankanan which were presented by Dr Sarat Kumar Mishra, Senior Veterinary Officer, Dr Sarat Kumar Sahu, BVO, Nandankanan, Dr. Saranga S, Zoo Veterinary Officer and Dr. P Hari Krishna Zoo Veterinary Officer respectively. After the presentations eight former eminent Zoo veterinarians who had significantly contributed to Nandankanan’s development, were honored for their notable work. Besides these, all Zoo Veterinary staffs were felicitated followed by vote of thanks by ACF (Sanctuary Management), Dr Rudra Prasad Rath. The event concluded with a group photo and photographs got clicked at selfie point.
